The Xinghua Economic Development Zone in Xinghua city – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – is gearing up to establish an industrial park for pre-prepared food.
In February, the No 1 Central Document, the first major policy document released annually by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, stressed the importance of developing this industry.
To seize the moment, the zone adjusted the original programming of Zhonghua Food Valley Zone B and transformed it into a pre-prepared food industrial park.
With a floor area of 197,000 square meters and an investment of 680 million yuan, the park plans to establish 12 standard factories and one comprehensive building.
The project started construction in February, and three floors of its factories as well as the comprehensive building have now been finished. It is expected to complete the main structure in October.
Notably, there are no walls built around one end of the first floor of the factories, which serve as vehicle loading and unloading sites. The reason for this design is that pre-prepared food cannot be exposed to rain or sunlight, so it requires high loading and unloading conditions.
The comprehensive building, with a floor area of over 20,000 sq m, will be equipped with facilities such as employee restaurants, 5G intelligent exhibition halls, business offices, conference centers, and leisure and fitness facilities.
As of the end of June, six pre-prepared food manufacturers had expressed their willing to settle in the park.
