Great endeavors have been made by the city to achieve the recognition. To gauge the prevailing situation being experienced by its local industries, Xinghua released an evaluation indicator system guideline covering eight aspects and 58 indicators.
It also introduced new species of crops and technologies – through building eight demonstration bases, developing 26 top agricultural firms and establishing 69 agricultural technology platforms.
The city also introduced more than 100 new varieties of animals and plants and solved eight technological problems.
Moreover, new equipment and machines have been developed in Xinghua to improve its production efficiency.
In one prime example, it upgraded key technology and equipment for the utilization of straw and promoted 10 sets of vegetable-growing facilities, which can save more than 30 percent of labor and improve overall efficiency by more than 20 percent.
