The premiere Tourism Commodity Fair kicked off in the Jiangyan district of Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, on April 8.
The two-day fair drew the participation of over 60 companies and more than 160 varieties of products from county-level cities and districts in Taizhou – attracting a raft of residents and tourists.
The fair showcased a wide range of local tourism commodities and delicacies, such as Jingjiang crab dumplings in soup and Huangqiao shaobing.
"I plan to buy some Taizhou specialties to bring back to my friends and family," said a Ms Zhang, a tourist from Heilongjiang province. "I couldn't resist any of the products," she added.
Participating companies said the tourism commodities fair not only helped them to raise their profile but also to expand sales channels.
"I hope the government can organize more events like this," said Zhu Yinyin, administrative supervisor of Jiangsu Wanye Food Technology Co Ltd.
In addition, in order to provide visitors with a broader experience, the fair offered some fun activities and entertainment, such as lawn camping, lamb roasting, live music performances, bonfire parties and fireworks shows.
