Some 21 villages in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – were honored as local models promoting rural vitalization on Sept 22.
The first batch includes Qixiang village, Shengli village and Wengzhuang village in Huangqiao town; Yongxing village, Liuwei village and Guangfu village in Hongqiao town; and Bahu village in Shanhu town.
The second batch comprises Xinxing village, Shuangpeng village and Xijiang village in Binjiang town; Yaodai village, Shiqiao village and Maozhuang village in Yaowang sub-district; and Kailyu village in Fenjie town.
The third includes Changqiao village in Guxi town and Jiangbao village in Yuanzhu town, among others.
To explore practice paths for rural vitalization, Taixing city has been encouraging local villages to apply to become municipal central towns and demonstration villages.
Taixing aims to ensure that by 2025, 50 percent of its townships and sub-districts, and over a quarter of all villages in the city, will become central towns and demonstration villages for rural vitalization in Taizhou.
