Taizhou Yuanda Investment Group Co Ltd, based in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – was recently included in the fifth list of the province's top 30 private cultural enterprises.
By encouraging, supporting and guiding the further development of these companies, the selection aimed at accelerating the cultivation of such backbone enterprises which have independent intellectual property rights and core competitiveness.
As a foreign trade export manufacturer specializing in garden furniture, the company is the supplier to many international corporate giants including US group Walmart and German retailer Metro AG.
Since its founding in 2007, the company has made use of the longstanding rattan-weaving skills in Taizhou, to manufacture rattan furniture with Chinese ethnic design elements.
To help residents along the path to prosperity, the company has leveraged idle factories and buildings to expand a weaving outsourcing and processing business.
To date, 61 outsourcing and weaving sites have been established in impoverished rural areas, bringing employment to nearly 3,000 people.
