The Drainage First Station in Binjiang town – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – was approved recently to be demolished and with a new one to be built in its place to improve the town’s flood control and drainage capacity.
With a total investment of 19.99 million yuan ($2.74 million), the renovation project also plans to build a new two-story gate station and flood control material warehouse.
At present, the preliminary design of the project has been approved and construction is expected to begin in September.
When completed, the power diversion and drainage capacity of Binjiang town will be further improved. The new station will also help to solve the problem of accumulating water and improve the water environment in rivers.
