​A trade delegation from Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province has signed intended deals worth $20 million with exhibitors at the ongoing sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE).

AstraZeneca, a UK-headquartered international pharma giant, has signed a new investment cooperation agreement with the Jiangsu provincial government to boost its existing operations in Taizhou.

In the first three quarters of the year, foreign trade imports and exports of Taizhou city hit 99.04 billion yuan ($13.54 billion).

The Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone ranks fourth among over 2,100 provincial-level development zones, according to the data released at a seminar on Oct 28.

​The Peking University Health Science Center – also known as the PUHSC (Taizhou) Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Innovation Center – was launched in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province on Oct 30.

​Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province has experienced significant economic recovery, as seen via the city's economic statistics for the first three quarters of 2023.

China's resilient and complete supply chain provides a strong basis for multinational companies to expand their presence in the country, said a senior executive of AstraZeneca, a United Kingdom-based global pharmaceutical company, underlining its ongoing commitment to scale up investment and enhance local production in China.

A seminar focusing on building a healthy China was held on Oct 20 at the China Medical City Convention Trade Center – located in the Taizhou Medical High Tech Zone, in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province.
