Evaluation results from a survey of the public health governance capacity of Yangtze River Delta cities in 2023 were announced on Dec 20 in Taizhou city, Jiangsu province, and Taizhou put in a very sound performance.
Taizhou scored 557.9 points in the assessment, ranking it 17th among 40 cities in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces.
Over the past five years, Taizhou's improvement of governance capacity has ranked it first in Jiangsu and third in the Yangtze River Delta region.
The evaluation system consists of 83 indicators and focuses on six areas – infectious disease prevention, chronic disease prevention, women's health, children's health, mental health and emergency responses.
By field, Taizhou scored high in chronic disease prevention and control and infectious disease prevention and control, ranking at 9th and 14th, respectively.
