This year, Jingjiang, a county-level city in Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has focused on prioritizing its environment and fostering green development.
During the first half of the year, the city's environment saw steady improvement, with its surface water quality ranking ninth in Jiangsu and the monthly average PM 2.5 in the atmosphere staying impressively low.
This year, the bureau of ecology and environment of Jingjiang has been rolling out a regionalized, differentiated, and precision-based environmental management approach. It has approved 116 construction projects, achieving a remarkable 100-percent satisfaction rate.
In addition, it has been advancing green financial policies, nurturing leading enterprises in green development, and implementing targeted special rectification efforts across key industrial sectors.
Moving forward, the bureau will continue to adamantly protect the environment of the Yangtze River. It will establish habitats for birds at high-tide levels, boost wetland ecosystems, and elevate biodiversity standards.
These efforts are aimed at ensuring that high-quality development is underpinned by a high-quality ecological setting.
