In recent years, Jingjiang, a county-level city in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, has turned waste into green energy, thanks to the waste-to-energy incineration power plant project of Jingjiang Canvest Environmental Protection Co. This initiative has effectively reduced waste volume, ensured its safe disposal, and harnessed it as a resource.
The Jingjiang Canvest Environmental Protection focuses on waste incineration power generation and comprehensive waste management, and its green generating project is vital in the Jingjiang Circular Economy Industrial Park.
The company boasts two incineration lines, each with a daily capacity of 400 metric tons, a power generation unit, and all necessary supporting facilities and equipment. Operating at total capacity, it can process 292,000 tons of waste annually and produce 120 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.
Project leader Huang Dengming introduced the facility, which can handle 800 tons of domestic waste daily, featuring a 50-ton sludge drying capability and a 50-ton kitchen waste treatment capacity. Each ton of waste processed can yield 430 kilowatt-hours of electricity, enough to power a household for a month. Moreover, the project is set to save approximately 67,000 tons of standard coal annually.
"This year, we've boosted our investment in upgrading treatment equipment and advancing technical transformation. Our efforts in managing the enterprise's nitrogen oxide and dust emissions are now well-established and stable, consistently meeting emission targets as anticipated. This has effectively contributed to enhancing regional air quality," said Huang.
