During the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, Jishi town in Jingjiang, a county-level city in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, held cultural and tourism events, attracting many locals and tourists.

Jishi town boasts a rich history spanning a millennium, with its food street serving as a prominent project and the primary venue for this event.

The event offered a variety of internet-famous snacks and local specialties like Zhangshaobing, a kind of baked sesame cake, and Laozhi chicken, stewed chicken in traditional sauce. The game area was also bustling, with stalls for activities like hooping geese, shrimp fishing, and handicrafts, drawing large crowds of visitors.

It also included treasure hunts, where visitors could use a food map to sample delicacies at different snack shops and find hidden treasures to exchange for prizes.

"People are introducing the food culture and stories of the ancient town in the snack shops. It's meaningful", said the visitor Wang Nan.

"We have such a wonderful cultural and tourism event in our town, and there's no need to travel far. It also offers various parent-child interaction activities and cultural performances, and the ancient town is filled with festive vibes", said Qian Yong, a resident living near the food street.
