Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings), located in Jingjiang, a county-level city in Taizhou, generated 3.1 billion yuan ($432.17 million) in net profits in the first half of this year, according to the enterprise's financial performance unveiled on August 12.
From January to June, the company received 79 orders worth $8.48 billion, achieving 188 percent of its annual target and bringing its total order value to 140 billion yuan.
As of June 30, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding hit a new record of 224 orders with a combined value of $20.15 billion.
Statistics show that Yangzijiang Shipbuilding's total revenue for the first six months of this year was 13 billion yuan, an increase of 15.3 percent year-on-year, with its core business, shipbuilding, accounting for 95 percent of total sales.
Since the start of this year, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has kept up with the goal of decarbonization in the shipping industry and enhanced its competitiveness in high-quality development by improving management efficiency, optimizing operations, and expanding production capacity.
