Delectable crab dumplings in soup, originating from the county-level city of Jingjiang – administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – earned high praise from tourists during the recent Dragon Boat Festival.
The dish boasts a culinary heritage spanning two centuries, earning it a place among China's top four dim sum delicacies and it's also on the list of provincial-level intangible cultural heritage items in Jiangsu.
During the holiday season, tourists flocked to Jingjiang to savor this gastronomic gem.
A visit to the Nanyuan Hotel on June 8 revealed a bustling hall and busy staff members efficiently delivering steaming baskets of dumplings to eager customers, underscoring the dish's immense popularity.

The hotel's managers said staff had stepped up the pace of work to meet all the orders.
"We're preparing nearly 1,000 baskets of crab dumplings daily to meet the high demand and try our best to provide tourists with an unforgettable culinary experience," said Tao Jinliang, an inheritor of the technique for making the dish and the catering department manager of the Nanyuan Hotel.
