A total of 26 enterprises from the county level city of Jingjiang – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – signed deals worth about $10 million at the 135th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, which wrapped up on May 6 in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.

Mining and construction equipment manufacturer the Jiangsu Shangqi Group, the sole VIP exhibitor from Taizhou, was offered a great booth at the fair due to its leading status in heavy industry, helping it to secure international supply orders worth $2 million this year.

The company not only showed its mainline products such as forklifts and excavators, but also launched what is expected to be the industry's best-seller – a static hydraulic micro loader.

According to Gao Zhoufei, general manager of its import and export division, this year's Canton Fair saw a 40 percent surge in visitors compared with previous years.

He added that that helped his company to expand its market share in the United States and Canada – also enabling its products to explore the untouched markets in Chile, Iraq, Belarus and other regions for the first time.

With the help of livestreaming, on-site visitors were also able to tour the manufacturer's factory via the internet.

Commercial buyers from countries such as Australia, Chile and Malaysia were invited to visit the factory area in Jingjiang and to discuss potential business deals.
