Jingjiang – a county-level city administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – hosted a coming-of-age ceremony on March 8 for 18 year-old students at Jingjiang No 1 Senior High School.

The event featured speeches given by various dignitaries and the exchange of heartfelt letters between parents and children.

"Adulthood brings more opportunities and challenges for me. I will face the unknown road with a renewed attitude and strive for a good result in the college entrance examination," said Lu Hanyu, a senior student at Jingjiang No 1 Senior High School.
Similar ceremonies also took place at Xieqiao High School in Jingjiang city on March 8, emphasizing the importance of moral education and guiding young people to uphold their ideals.
"I hope that my daughter and all the children who cross the threshold into adulthood today can be brave and enthusiastic, pursuing their dreams step by step and ultimately see their beautiful dreams come true," said parent representative Liu Haixia.
