The promotion of traditional Chinese culture through various engaging reading activities has been actively undertaken in Xieqiao town – located in Jingjiang, a county-level city administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – since mid-January.
The events aim to bring together different generations and provide a stimulating and exciting start to the Chinese New Year.
The Xingang Bookstore, for one, hosted a poetry recital on Jan 19 – where reading fans and students gathered to recite classic New Year poems. The event also featured an interactive "guess the name of the song" game.
Earlier, on Jan 15, the Xinjiyuan Community organized a hands-on activity.
Stickers, made by kids, were later distributed to widowed elderly individuals, left-behind children and other special families – sharing out the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.

Continuing the cultural festivities, on Jan 16 the Dongfu community hosted a themed reading event at the Farmhouse Bookstore.
The activities there included storytelling, poetry recitals and book recommendations, drawing active participation from the elderly community.
