An entertainment show in Xilai town, administered by Jingjiang city – a county-level city of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently brought down the curtain after a 20-day run, which wowed the audiences.
With over 10,000 participants and visitors, the extravaganza proved to be a big hit. On each evening at 7:00 pm and running for two hours, the show featured a wide range of performances – including opera singing, harmonica and erhu playing, guitar singing, calligraphy writing, magic demonstrations and street dancing.

The show received high praise from locals, with resident Guo Chengcan saying it combined rustic and fashionable elements and showcased the unique cultural heritage of Xilai town.
Guo performed calligraphy on stage before singing a popular song with the host. Nine-year-old Li Jiaxin also mustered up the courage for her to sing a song and her mom said the presence of familiar faces on stage made the experience all the more memorable for her daughter.
Wang Shubin, a company employee, attended almost every night – even following updates on WeChat when he was away on business.
Xilai town, known for its rich history and culture, offers various free cultural facilities to the public, creating a vibrant community of enthusiasts.
