The logistics park is a key project in the construction of a provincial transportation modernization demonstration zone in Jiangsu.
It includes a specialized 100,000-metic-ton bulk cargo dock with two 100,000-ton berths. It is designed for 150,000-ton bulk carriers, with a berth length of 693 meters and an annual handling capacity of 13.6 million tons.
What's more, the facility adheres to the principles of green and low-carbon development. As such, it incorporates intelligent and energy-saving technologies such as digital yard management, unmanned facilities, a smart shore power supply, fully enclosed coal sheds and solar power generation.
The project team is said to have surmounted various technical challenges, such as complex and changing geological conditions. It overcame short construction windows during the flood season and exceptionally high temperatures and completed the construction of the dock in less than eight months.
After conducting on-site inspections, assessing reports and reviewing project materials, the acceptance inspection team approved the completion acceptance and commended the project for receiving provincial awards in safety and quality during the construction process.
