Jingjiang-based company China Construction Science and Industry Construction Limited's Jiangsu branch – located in the Jiangyin-Jingjiang Industrial Park, in East China's Jiangsu province – is contributing to the ongoing construction of the new Serbia-Hungary Railway.

This is the first high-speed railway in Serbia and is also a landmark project in the Belt and Road Initiative in Europe.

The project involves the Novi Sad-Subotica section, for which CSCEC Jiangsu is responsible for constructing the steel structure bridge.

The first batch of 1,800 metric tons of components, sent to Serbia on June 15, and the total project volume weighed 5,000 metric tons.

A team of railroad project supervisors from Serbia visited CSCEC Jiangsu from June 10 to 11 to learn about the processing process, technical specifications and applications of the steel structure parts.

Milena, the project supervisor, said the Serbian railroad under construction is adopting European Union standards, which have very high requirements on the quality of the weld seams and the finished appearance of the components.

"I have a very good impression of CSCEC and I was very satisfied when I visited the entire process of product processing this time. They strictly comply with all the requirements for quality control and have passed many international certifications," she said.

On completion of the full line, the travel time between the capitals of Hungary and Serbia will be shortened from 8 hours to about 3 hours.
