Jingjiang – a county-level city administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently added two intelligent demonstration bases onto its list of model agricultural production operations.
The announcement was made by the provincial department of agriculture and rural affairs and brings the total number of province-wide demonstration models in the city to three.
One of the newly added bases is situated in Maqiao town and specializes in the production of Xiangsha taro, a local variety of the taro herb.
Due to its labor-intensive cultivation process, the production scale of this crop was once limited. However, with the implementation of full mechanization, planting has become easier and output has increased significantly.

The other newly added base is an intelligent ecological pasture owned by Jiangsu Baoyuan Eco-Pastoral Co Ltd. Utilizing sensors, pedometers, and other intelligent equipment, it is rearing 2,000 cows.
The breeding process, which employs intelligent systems, has been selected as an exemplary case of rural industry green development in Jiangsu province.
Jingjiang city has been listed as a pioneer zone for Jiangsu province's full-mechanization demonstration counties.
The city has been active in promoting the modernization of its farming and rural areas by accelerating the adoption of efficient, green and intelligent agricultural production equipment and technology.
