The opening ceremony of the 2023 Jingjiang Tourism Festival, as well as the 11th Xilai Peach Blossom Festival, was held on March 26 in the Xilai Science and Technology Botanical Garden in Jingjiang city – a county-level city administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province.
A local official said at the event that Xilai town was the beautiful eastern gate of Jingjiang city and was, to boot, also a national ecological town and a famous historical and cultural town in China.
"The Xilai Peach Blossom Festival has been held 11 consecutive times and has become a model of cultural tourism, a hub for attracting investment, as well as a prestigious event for surrounding areas," the official added.

Great performances were staged at the event, ranging from songs and dances to poem recitations – offering visitors a visual and acoustic feast.
Moreover, a raft of projects were also signed into effect on site, such as manufacturing projects for new energy vehicle electric control harness assemblies.
A series of exciting activities – including creative bazaars and fun games – were held after the ceremony, to help with the push to inject more momentum into Xilai's development.
