Jingjiang: Open city integrating with the entire world

Jingjiang city – a county-level city administered by the prefecture-level metropolis of Taizhou, in East China's Jiangsu province – boasts national first-class open river ports.

Located on the north banks of the Yangtze River, it is an economic bridgehead that supports the great nearby city of Shanghai and whose influence radiates throughout northern Jiangsu.

Ever since the reform and opening-up in China, Jingjiang has conducted thorough "bringing in" and "going global" strategies.

It has invested in and traded with Southeast Asia, Europe and America and in other countries and districts successively. In addition, it has become the international sister city of Ansbach in Germany.

Furthermore, several countries and regions have established over 100 wholly foreign-owned businesses and joint venture enterprises in Jingjiang. These include the United States, Germany, England, Finland, Holland, Japan, Singapore – as well China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Taiwan province.

The total volume of foreign trade in Jingjiang is these days said to be increasing at a rapid rate, with average annual growth of 20 percent. As a result, Jingjiang has become an international open city that is joining globalization and that is quite literally going global.
