Huangqiao town in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – staged an exciting raft of activities during the recent Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, or eight-day "golden week" break.
At 8:08 pm on Oct 1, a spectacular light show performed by 250 unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, lit up the night sky over the town, creating a visual extravaganza.
During the break, a wedding customs parade performance recreating the marriage customs of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) was performed in the town, giving tourists the feel of the traditional wedding process at that time.
Elsewhere at the square on the east side of the former residence of Ding Wenjiang – a leading Chinese geologist active in the Republic of China (1912–49) – dancers portrayed the scene of Huangqiao's thriving economy and culture, luring in delighted tourists.
