New energy industry expands quickly in Hailing district

The new energy industry in Hailing district, Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province, is in the midst of rapid development due to significant industrial expansion.

At present, LONGi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd, Das Solar (Taizhou) Co Ltd, FuturaSun, and Taizhou Jinneng New Energy Co Ltd all started their third phase project in Hailing.

LONGi has been cooperating with Taizhou for nearly nine years. With a total investment of an estimated 7 billion yuan ($1.01 billion), it has built three production bases and two research and development centers there, said company representative Chen Kai.

In 2019, Italy company FuturaSun invested in and built its only production base in Hailing, which achieved total sales topping 450 million yuan last year. Its phase III 2GW photovoltaic module project is expected to be launched this year.

Hailing is currently home to over 100 new energy companies and supporting companies, with 16 companies above designated size and 19 national high-tech companies.

In addition, a sound business environment has formed in Hailing. The district accelerated the procedure handling speed for DAS SOLAR (Taizhou) Co Ltd and it took just 22 days for the company to obtain project information to settling down there.

Moving forward, Hailing is striving to achieve a photovoltaic cell production capacity of over 20GW, a component production capacity of over 30GW, a photovoltaic power generation installed capacity of 400MW, and a total photovoltaic industry chain scale of 60 billion yuan. It is also aiming for a new energy and related industry scale of 100 billion yuan, according to Hailing District Party Secretary Sun Qun.
