Jiangsu Airship Co Ltd plans to turn a new page by developing the new energy vehicle sector while also continuing to promote intelligent manufacturing.
The 64-year-old company – located in Hailing district of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – is one of the earliest manufacturers in China to produce straight bevel gears using precision forging technology.
Last year, district officials visited the company and helped it save two months in pushing forward a new project, said Gong Renchun, director of the firm's engineering center.
The project involved conducting R&D into high-performance components of a new energy vehicle as well as producing intelligent digital systems, at a cost of 600 million yuan. It is currently moving forward on schedule.
Jiangsu Airship also introduced eight new automatic finishing production lines last year. The new equipment has optimized the production process and increased production capacity by 60 percent.
It racked up total sales of 360 million yuan ($52.34 million) in 2022, up nearly 15 percent year-on-year.
Through several stages of transformation and upgrading, the company’s products have transitioned from auto parts that run on gas and diesel to new energy components.
