Hefei High-tech satellite to be launched in September
The "Hefei High-tech No.1" satellite will be launched into space by Beijing Guodian Gaoke Technology Co Ltd on Sept 5 in Haiyang city, East China's Shandong province.
The announcement was made by Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, or Hefei high-tech zone, on Aug 22. The zone is located in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province.
The launch will involve the deployment of four satellites with the designations 21 to 24, with the 21st satellite being named "Hefei High-tech No.1".
This is a significant achievement in the development of a low-orbit satellite Internet of Things (IoT) constellation for Hefei city.
Beijing Guodian Gaoke Technology Co Ltd is the only commercial aerospace company in China with a license for low-orbit satellite communication frequency (UHF) and value-added telecom operation license.

Costing 3 billion yuan ($413.4 million), the company's headquarters project in Hefei high-tech zone was signed on April 24 during the opening ceremony for Space Day of China.
Its main business will focus on the development, production, operation, and constellation construction of satellite constellation networking, intelligent manufacturing, and satellite IoT applications.
