The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, recently unveiled a blueprint for the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.
The zone will strive to generate 200 billion yuan ($30.9 billion) in GDP and become home to over 100,000 enterprises, including more than 4,000 high-tech enterprises and 60 listed companies by 2025.
According to the plan, the zone will further open up, accelerate the construction of its free trade zone, establish partnerships with enterprises from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, and improve foreign investment services.
By 2025, the total value of imports and exports in the zone was estimated at $6.5 billion, and foreign direct investment in the zone was expected to reach $780 million.
