Shipments of Huami wearable devices surge in Q1

Hefei-based wearable devices developer Huami's shipment of smart watches saw robust year-on-year growth in the first quarter of 2021, according to an industrial report.

Huami's Amazfit and Zepp brands shipped 1.65 million units during the period, ranking fourth in the world and up 68.8 percent year-on-year, the highest increase among all major watch makers, according to the global market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC).

IDC data shows that Huami accounted for a large share of the adult watches market in many countries in the first quarter of this year. Its market share was the highest in Brazil, Russia, and Spain, the second highest in Italy and the third highest in Poland.

Public data shows that Huami's revenue reached 1.1 billion yuan ($172 million) in the first quarter of this year, up 5.4 percent year-on-year. The revenue of its own brands Amazfit and Zepp saw an 84.4 percent year-on-year increase.

Established in 2013, Huami's wearable devices have entered the markets of more than 70 countries and regions.
