White goods maker Whirlpool Corp opened its flagship store selling kitchen appliances in Hefei, Anhui province on June 26, following its smart factory, global research and development center, and China headquarters.

Whirlpool chose to build the store in Nangang Science Park in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, where washing machines, refrigerators and motor factories are located.

The store displays all types of appliances, including built-in ovens, steam boxes, microwave ovens, range hoods, stoves, dishwashers, stand-alone washing machines, side-by-side refrigerators and wine cabinets to meet the diverse needs of customers.

"We will deepen cooperation with the park and expand our business in China," said Ai Xiaoming, president of Whirlpool Corp's China unit.

Whirlpool has stepped up investment in China and plans to set up a factory with an annual production capacity of 500,000 smart dishwashers.
