Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone will get financial support of 50 million yuan ($8.06 million) from the central government after being ratified as a national innovation and entrepreneurship carrier.

According to a carrier list unveiled by the Ministry of Finance, the zone has been ratified as a scientific and technological resources-sponsored innovation and entrepreneurship carrier.

To promote mass innovation and entrepreneurship across China, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will lend support to the zone.

With favorable policies, the zone has established a number of bases and research platforms for innovators and entrepreneurs, such as the Institute of Advanced Technology of the University of Science and Technology of China and the Brian-inspired Intelligence National Laboratory.
