Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone organized a series of events at the Anhui Innovation Center on June 13, the start of the 2019 National Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week.
The zone held a roadshow for eight diverse projects and invited more than 20 investment institutions to choose the project with the most potential.
After fierce competition, a project related to photoelectricity was ultimately chosen as the winner by nine investment institutions.
Since 2016, the zone has held 14 roadshows to promote quality projects to investment institutions and has attracted funds amounting to 500 million yuan ($80.6 million).
To foster more tech firms, a technology business incubator alliance was inaugurated after the roadshow. It is Anhui's first incubator alliance to be organized by a development zone.
Incubators always play an important role in serving innovators and entrepreneurs. The zone has gathered more than 60 incubators, including national entrepreneurial parks and new innovation centers.
In order to provide professional support to entrepreneurs, the zone began to recruit tutors for them in 2018, mostly consisting of investors and industry experts.
Moving forward, the zone will hold more activities promoting innovation and entrepreneurship and strive to cultivate more high-growth enterprises, according to Lyu Changfu, deputy director of the administrative committee of the zone.
The events attracted more than 300 attendees, including investors, incubator managers and enterprise representatives, and received over 500,000 views via live video.
