Technology products developed by China's largest artificial intelligence (AI) voice tech supplier iFlytek debuted at the International Conference on AI and Education in Beijing on May 16.
The company has been exploring the education industry for 15 years and has been continuously applying advanced technologies on intelligent speech and AI. It has managed to build a complete education products system, according to a report delivered by iFlytek Chairman Liu Qingfeng at the opening ceremony.
The opening video of the conference used synthesized AI voice technology developed by iFlytek, which caught the audience's attention immediately for how similar it sounded to a human being.
As a voice recognition specialist, iFlytek again surprised audiences when they obtained PPT and the corresponding speech content by scanning the QR code right after Liu delivered his speech.
Smart education products from iFlytek have been applied in 31 provincial administrative units and more than 25,000 schools across the country, serving nearly 100 million teachers and students.
Liu said that while promoting the application of AI technology in the field of education, iFlytek also shared technology with developers in education industry. It has already benefited 110,000 developers, generated 140,000 development applications, and cooperated with more than 200 companies. Liu pledged to join hands with social community to create a new future for education.
The conference also held an exhibition for technological achievements. IFlytek displayed study apps, websites, and translators, attracting many with their practical functions.
Stephanie Gianni of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization said "the products are like children's friends." She believes that the relationship between AI and education is critical to changing the way we teach.
Image recognition technology can convert words on a paper into electronic form within a matter of seconds. The machine can scan and accurately grade test papers. Not only can it analyze class averages for each question, but it can also determine and analyze common mistakes and patterns.
Voice recognition technology can convert speech into words, which can be used to teach people Chinese.
Im Koch, secretary of state of Cambodia, said students in Cambodia want to learn English, but lack qualified teachers. Now, AI can provide standard pronunciations.
The conference showcased China's strategy for developing education and shared its experiences in the application of information technology and AI technology in education.
The technology and applications of iFlytek were praised by guests. Moving forward, the company plans to continue to expand the application of AI core technology in the field of education, and promote the high-quality development of the industry.
