Users registered on a fitness app developed by China's largest wearable devices maker, Huami Corp, has exceeded 100 million, the company announced on May 5.
The user base has risen as the product sales volume reached 27.5 million in 2018, an increase of 51.9 percent compared with 2017.
The app not only gathers sports-related data such as steps taken, distance traveled and calories burned but stores users' personal health data by tracking one's heart rate and monitoring sleep.
As of March 31, the app has recorded over 63 trillion steps and a total mileage of 43.6 billion kilometers, equivalent to about 1.09 million trips around the Earth. In addition, the total amount of time measuring heart rates reached 13.7 billion hours and nearly 6 billion nights of sleep were recorded.
With this huge database, the company plans to set up a specialized system to analyze and make full use of the data, aiming to help users understand more about their health conditions and provide them with a better experience when using wearable devices.
