Electricity grid research base inaugurated in Hefei

An electricity grid research base designed to construct a platform connecting the electricity system with the internet of things and 5G technology, the first in Anhui province, was inaugurated in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone on April 29.

The research base will focus on the construction of an intelligent electricity grid by making full use of telecommunication, artificial intelligence and 5G technology to accelerate information transmission and ensure safety.

The base will be established by CSG, a leader in a variety of sectors in smart manufacturing of high-end equipment and smart distribution networks, China Telecom, a major telecommunication service provider and ZTE, a Chinese telecom giant.
