The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Anhui province will promote intellectual property protection to improve its business environment, according to a symposium organized by the zone's science and technology bureau on April 9.

In order to raise awareness among corporates on intellectual property protection, the zone invited eight key technology-based enterprises and patent service agencies to give their opinions on upcoming work projects.

Participants at the symposium agreed that intellectual property is the key resource for technological innovation at companies and expressed hopes in gaining strong support for the protection of patent rights.

The zone plans to hold more promotional activities and training sessions on intellectual property protection and strengthen policy support for innovative enterprises, said Fang Xiangmin, vice director of the administrative committee of the zone.
