The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Anhui province held an opening ceremony for the construction of 110 high–quality projects worth a total of 49.71 billion yuan ($7.39 billion) on March 30.

The new projects deal mainly with promising new economic industries and have attracted a large amount of investment from high-tech enterprises in the zone.

The zone launched a series of research and development projects, including a biomedicine industrial park with an investment of 1.7 billion yuan from the Biologics Company, and a research and production center for innovative vitro diagnostic reagents with an investment of 1 billion yuan from Biohit Healthcare Co.

The ceremony also launched a new Anhui Stomatology Hospital district, a key oral education and medical base in the province for cultivating senior talents in stomatology, with a planned floor area of 68,654.05 square meters.
