Hefei hi-tech zone pushes for more patent applications

The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Anhui province recently held a training session on the international patent application process, aiming to increase the number of high-value patents and improve its global status.
During the training session, Lv Changfu, deputy director of the zone's administrative committee, recalled the success the zone has experienced in filing patents thanks to the government’s efforts in protecting intellectual property.
With a total of 402 patents per 10,000 inventions, the zone ranks highly among national development zones. The number of international patent applications via the Patent Cooperation Treaty recently reached 103, a record high.
The National Pilot Development Zone for Intellectual Property Protection, the first in Anhui province, will be set up in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone to provide supporting services for key enterprises and innovative institutes.
