Anhui province's Hefei comprehensive national science center recently signed a dozen of cooperation agreements with well-known institutes, attracting more than 10 billion yuan ($1.49 billion) investment in total.

As the core area of the science center, Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone is striving to build a batch of platforms for high-end innovation and companies' research and development to promote in-depth exchanges with prominent colleges and enterprises.

To date, the high-tech zone has gathered more than 30 innovative organizations such as the Institute of Advanced Technology of the University of Science and Technology of China and the Institute for Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In addition, it has set up nearly 100 joint laboratories and platforms for the commercialization of scientific achievements, and has yielded more than 800 achievements in various technology fields.

"In 2019, we will strive to build no fewer than 10 new high-level innovative organizations," said an official of the administrative committee of Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone.

By 2020, the high-tech zone is expected to gather more than 50 innovative platforms to provide services for key industries, through which more than 1,000 enterprises will be introduced to facilitate the development of the region.
