China-made wearable fitness device debuts at Mobile World Congress

Chinese high-technology company Huami debuted its cutting-edge products such as smart watches and sports bands under the brand of Amazfit at the 2019 Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona, Spain from Feb 25 to 28.

It is the first time for China's wearable device maker to present at the world's biggest mobile fair.

By displaying advanced wearable products such as Amazfit smart watches and bands on a world-class stage, Huami introduced its goods to global users in support of its decision to gain worldwide recognition and expand international markets.

Huami, which made its initial public offerings on the New York Stock Exchange in 2018, is China's largest wearable device maker. It is based in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, East China's Anhui province.

According to the company's 2018 financial report, the sales volume of Huami's own brand increased by 172.8 percent year-on-year in the third quarter with its overseas sales volume accounting for 42.7 percent of total sales.

The Amazfit smart watch was first released in the autumn of 2016, and its overseas sales volume exceeded 1 million as of July 2018, ranking third in the world's best-selling smart watches in the second quarter of 2018. It is the fourth largest brand of smart watches, and was ratified as producing "the best smart watches" by international gadget reviewer BGR.
