Institute set to propel quantum technology research in Hefei

The quantum innovation institute operated by Chinese Academy of Sciences has broken ground in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Anhui province.
Focusing on further innovation in quantum technology, the institute will serve as an important platform of the national laboratory working on quantum information science research, according to Zhang Tianpei, director of Anhui Development and Reform Commission.
After completion, it will recruit a large number of scientists and entrepreneurs into the zone and promote the commercialization of achievements in quantum science and relevant cutting-edge technology.
According to Zhang, funds for the development of quantum industry have been set up to help Anhui propel itself into a globally leading region in the field of quantum science and technology.
