The science and technology department of Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone led a group of 20 incubators and maker spaces on Jan 4 to look back on their former achievements and eye further development.
The achievements that were reflected upon include the rapid advancement of the zone and maintaining its position among top-tier national competitors. It was listed by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2018 as having great potential to become amongst the world leading high-tech industrial parks. Its incubator start-ups also consist of more than half of the zone's total 22 listed companies.
Eyeing high, the zone put forward several proposals for further development.
Incubators will explore and dedicate more to emerging industries such as quantum, integrated circuit, artificial intelligence, big data, information security, and biopharmaceuticals.
Taking advantage of the educational environment of Hefei, the zone will call for local higher learning institutions turning more scientific research into tangible results and creating an innovative climate around the area.
The zone will strive for a better living and working environment and to attract talented personnel from all walks of life, whilst elevating its image on the international stage.
With big data support, the zone can go through the incubators' various development difficulties and work out more effective and targeted policies.
It encourages frequent exchanges among incubators, aiming to forge closer ties among newly established companies.
The zone is also taking active measures to include more start-ups, such as setting up larger industrial parks and putting into operation more spare areas.
