The opening ceremony of the 2020 National Sailing Championship (Laser & Finn) and the National Sailing Tournament (Nacra 17) took place at the Zhanjiang Water Sports Center on Dec 14.

This is the first national sailing competition that Zhanjiang has undertaken, which is of great significance to promote the development of the sailing sports and leisure sailing industries in the city.

Jointly hosted by the Chinese Yachting Association, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Sports, and the Zhanjiang municipal government, the competition started on Dec 12 and will last until Dec 19.

The competition is divided into six levels, namely men's laser race, women's laser radial race, men's laser 4.7 race, women's laser 4.7 race, Finn, as well as Nacra 17.

A total of 27 teams from 20 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities are competing for titles at the competition.

In addition, related activities, including a photography competition, a short video contest, as well as offline sailing  promotional events, are being carried out to enhance public participation in this national sailing competition.
