Suixi county in Zhanjiang was recently included in the list of China's most beautiful counties in 2020, which was released at the 16th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair. The county was the only one in the western part of Guangdong province to be included.

The county also ranked 93rd on the list of China's top 100 counties with the most comprehensive strength in 2020, which was recently released by Insight China magazine.

Suixi has been on the path of developing itself into a strong modern agricultural county. Production of featured agricultural products like dragon fruit, sugarcane, bananas, and traditional Chinese medicine has been moving towards industrialization.

Currently, the cultivation area of dragon fruit in Suixi exceeds 100,000 mu (6,666.67 hectares), with an annual output of 400,000 metric tons of fresh fruit. The industrial output value has reached more than 3 billion yuan ($458.87 million).

In 2015, Suixi became the first pilot county in Zhanjiang for the Rural Taobao program and the first provincial-level comprehensive demonstration county in Zhanjiang for rural e-commerce in 2018.

It was included on the list of 213 areas in China for its achievements in modernizing the distribution of agricultural products and promoting the development of rural e-commerce. Special funds and priority support were given by the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Finance in 2020 for the county's comprehensive demonstration work of e-commerce in its rural areas.

Suixi is the birthplace of Leizhou culture, and boasts numerous historical sites. It also has many natural scenic spots, with its pristine blue waters and tranquil forests. It has great potential for developing its tourism industry.
