Alibaba South China Technology Co Ltd signed a comprehensive cooperation framework agreement with Zhanjiang on Aug 28 to provide solutions for the city's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as to carry out Taobao livestreaming training.

The cooperation is part of the city's efforts to promote the high-quality development of SMEs relying on the global e-commerce resources of the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, said Huang Mingzhong, vice mayor of Zhanjiang.

The cooperation can also further improve the industrial layout of the city's digital economy, boost the development of new forms of the digital economy, and help SMEs better adapt to new situations.

Zhanjiang will make full use of Alibaba's advantages in data, markets, capital, and digitization to deeply tap into the development potential of Zhanjiang in fields like manufacturing, trade, and agriculture, added Huang.
