Four research institutes in Zhanjiang signed strategic cooperation agreements with Thailand-based Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) on June 15.
The four research institutes are the South Subtropical Crops Research Institute, the Agricultural Product Processing Research Institute, the Tropical Agricultural Machinery Research Institute, and Zhanjiang Experimental Station, which are all attached to the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agriculture Sciences (CATAS).
These parties will carry out comprehensive and in-depth cooperation centering around the one million pig industrial chain project of CP Group, and in fields like pig breeding, resource utilization of waste from poultry and livestock, green fruit and vegetables planation, agricultural machinery and equipment, as well as talent cultivation.
The cooperation agreements aim to promote the development of agriculture though scientific and technological innovation, as well as to explore ways to establish mechanisms for collaborative innovation between research institutes and industrial enterprises.
