The preparation and construction committee for Zhanjiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone was set up on June 1, marking a new stage of the city's bonded zone.

The comprehensive bonded zone is set to be located in Lingang Industrial Park in the city's Xiashan district and is designed to cover an area of 2.08 square kilometers.

The zone will be divided into five areas for high-tech industries, food processing and cold chain, bonded logistics, bonded exhibition and trading, as well as financial services. It is expected to develop six major industries, namely food processing and cold chain storage, cross-border e-commerce, bonded logistics, financial services, high-tech industries, as well as supporting projects for the BASF (Guangdong) Verbund Site project.

Zhanjiang completed the application to the Guangdong provincial government for the establishment of the comprehensive bonded zone in April 2019, which was submitted to the State Council in June 2019. The application was then approved and transmitted to the General Administration of Customs, of which the examination and verification process has been started.

The preparation and construction committee will cooperate with Zhanjiang Customs and play an active role in the application and construction of the comprehensive bonded zone. In addition, it will speed up the formulation of industrial development plans to improve the quality of investment attraction to the bonded zone.
