All 132 industrial enterprises above designated size had resumed their work and production in Wuchuan, a county-level city in Zhanjiang, by April 14, according to the city's bureau of industry and information technology.

An enterprise above designated size refers to one with an annual main business income of more than 20 million yuan ($2.82 million).

Several actions have been made by the bureau to help these enterprises resume their operations, including collecting information of employees beyond the city to ensure that non-local staff can return to work smoothly.

The bureau also helped enterprises purchase sufficient novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic prevention supplies. By April 20, more than four million masks had been purchased with the help of the bureau.

In addition, the bureau helped enterprises lacking production funds to apply for the identification of provincial key enterprises to enjoy relevant preferential loan policies. To date, three enterprises, namely Wuchuan Yuexing Labor Protection Appliance Co Ltd, Wuchuan Suixing Braid Industry Co Ltd, and Wuchuan Zhanchang Plastic Packaging Factory, have been identified as provincial key enterprises for COVID-19 epidemic prevention supplies.

The bureau will also provide enterprises with technical renovations through a subsidy of up to 70 percent of their investment in technical renovations.
