Zhanjiang approved the Pilot Work Plan for Promoting the Innovation of the National Medical Fund Supervision Method on Dec 18 at the seventh meeting of the CPC Zhanjiang municipal committee for comprehensively deepening reform.

Zhanjiang has been identified by the National Medical Insurance Bureau as one of the first 19 pilot cities for medical insurance fund innovation in China. In the future, Zhanjiang will upgrade the medical insurance model through innovation, forming a national benchmark with experiences, models, and standards that can be used for reference, replication, and promotion.

Government leaders also stressed at the meeting that government officials must pay attention to the new policies, new trends, and new requirements of the State and province. They should implement safeguard measures, as well as summarize and refine the good experiences and effective measures in the pilot practice.
