Shiling town and Anpu town of Lianjiang, Zhanjiang in South China's Guangdong province were included on the list of the Top 1,000 Towns with Comprehensive Strength in China, ranking 882nd and 963rd respectively.

The list was determined by measuring the GDP, urban and rural income, as well as township tax revenue of the towns.

Located in the southwest of Lianjiang, Anpu town is one of the four ancient towns of Guangdong province. At present, Anpu town has formed leading industries, such as furniture, food, modern logistics, business, as well as leisure and entertainment. In the future, Anpu town will make full use of relevant policies to develop infrastructure construction, environmental remediation, industrial cultivation, cultural heritage, and institutional innovation.

Shiling town has a history of nearly 400 years. In recent years, Shiling town has attracted large enterprises and high-quality enterprises to settle down in it, making rapid development of its economy. From January to July of this year, the fixed assets investment was 270 million yuan ($38.51 million), the retail sales of social consumer goods was 860 million yuan, and the public finance income was 24.36 million yuan.

In the future, Lianjiang will strengthen policy support and guidance, promote the development of the real economy, as well as accelerate the construction of characteristic towns and the Hengshan High-speed Railway Station to strengthen the economic competitiveness in the township.
