Bo Ji Chui, a local rice product in Zhanjiang, is one of the traditional snacks of the Han people in western Guangdong province. It is soft, smooth, salty, and has the function of replenishing vital energy and relieving thirst.

The most traditional way to eat Bo Ji Chui is to sprinkle it with small sesame seeds or with garlic, soy sauce, and peanut oil in the summer and autumn, or stir-fry it and add chili sauce in the winter.

Bojichui is placed on a bamboo container resembling a dustpan. People will eat it on July 14th to avoid disaster and exorcise evil spirits.
